One of Tortola's most elegant homes, stately Quantock House sits on nearly two acres on Tortola's lush northwest side overlooking Brewer's Bay, and boasts some of the most spectacular landscaping we've seen in the islands. An electronic gate ushers you into the palm-lined driveway and covered parking area of this Caribbean classic. Built on three levels, this superb villa's main floor offers the rich Great Room with a formal dining area and an office with a powder room. Red tile floors are strewn with oriental rugs, walls are accented with antique prints, and tasteful attention to detail and lavish furnishings is delightfully evident throughout the house. Handcrafted mahogany windows and doors open Quantock's Great Room to a classic West Indian covered verandah with informal dining and sitting areas with views of the glorious gardens and the sea, where you can relax to tropical bird song and cooling tradewinds. The large kitchen is detailed with custom mahogany cabinetry and blue tiling. Just outside the kitchen windows is a picture-perfect garden courtyard with magnificent tropical plantings such a pink torch ginger, ferns and towering traveler palms. |

In the east wing of the main level is the very private Floral Suite, a beautifully-furnished and air-conditioned king bed master bedroom/bath suite. A half-flight staircase leads to Quantock House's west wing and to the Monkey and French Terra Cotta Suites, two charming air-conditioned queen bedroom/bath suites. All three of these fully-screened suites enjoy private balconies overlooking the gardens and the wide-angled blue ocean views beyond. Another half-level down is the very private, air-conditioned Elephant Suite with two queen beds, perfect for children and their nanny. Five steps below the Elephant Suite level is the just-remodeled pool (which may be heated for an additional charge). The pool is surrounded by an expanded pool deck and features an alfresco dining area with a stainless steel gas grill; the deck and pool are surrounded by lush gardens. Just off the dining patio is the new cabana kitchen, boasting a sink, mini-fridge, a blender, microwave, toaster, coffeemaker, and dishes and silverware for convenient poolside cocktails and casual dining. A path leads down the hill from the dining patio into the hillside garden. First class in every way, Quantock House is highly recommended...five stars! |

Entertainment and Amenities: 5 satellite TVs with DVD player + VCRs, 5-CD player, movie collection, books, games, A/C in all bedrooms, computer with DSL line, Wi-Fi for your laptop, printer, answering machine, fax machine; honor bar with assorted liquors (replace what you use), hammock, safes for valuables in all bedrooms, gas grill, cabana kitchen with mini-fridge, dishes, appliances + sink; free weights + exercise equipment for pool aerobics, some assorted snorkel gear for guests, full-size wooden baby crib, electronic gate into property with intercom, automatic generator, dishwasher, laundry (available any time for guests' use). A complimentary, simple cold supper with a bottle of wine is provided for your arrival night, along with a complimentary starter pack with some breakfast fixings for the next morning.

Miscellaneous: The pool and pool deck area at Quantock House has been completely rebuilt, and we will have some new photos for you soon of this great improvement.
*The Elephant Suite on the lower (pool) level of Quantock House has 2 queen beds. As long as an adult is also occupying this room, 1 to 2 children up to 12 years old (9th and 10th guests) may also sleep in this bedroom suite at an additional cost of $50 per child, per night.
PLEASE NOTE that there is a small cottage on the property where quiet, long-term tenants live. However, they have their own gate and their own road to the cottage and will not interfere with your privacy at Quantock House.
